2025 EESA National Council Election

EESA is now accepting nominations for positions on the 2025 National Council. This is a key opportunity for members to influence EESA's leadership and direction. Three positions are available:

  • Two Elected Member positions
  • One Young Professional Member position

Nominations close on 25 October 2024. 

Eligibility and How to Nominate

Elected Member Positions:

To be eligible, nominees must:

  • Be a financial EESA member with at least two years of continuous membership before Friday, 25 October 2024.

  • Complete the nomination form, signed by a financial EESA member.

  • Submit a candidate statement (max 500 words) outlining:

    • Their EESA involvement and reasons for nominating.
    • Relevant skills or qualities they would bring to the role.

  • Provide a headshot.

Eligible candidates will be voted on by EESA members in an electronic election.

Young Professional Member Position:

To qualify, nominees must:

  • Be under 35 years old and a financial EESA member.
  • Have at least two years of experience on a local Chapter Committee.
  • Receive endorsement from their Chapter Chair and local Chapter Committee.

Submit the nomination form including the candidate statement to your Chapter Chair for endorsement. The incoming National Council will appoint the successful candidate from the nominations received. This position has a 1-year term.

National Council Composition

The National Council provides leadership and strategic direction for EESA and consists of:

  • Six Chapter Chairs (or their representatives), elected by chapter committees.
  • Two Elected Members, chosen through member voting.
  • National President – Terry Lampard
  • Vice President, Honorary Treasurer, and Secretary (non-voting) – elected or appointed by the National Council.
  • Young Professional Member – appointed by the National Council.
  • Non-voting corresponding members as needed.

How to Vote

Voting for the Two Elected Member positions will be held from 30 October to 13 November 2024. EESA members will receive voting instructions via email.

Key Dates:

  • 11 October 2024: Nominations open.
  • 25 October 2024: Nominations close at 11:59 PM AEDT.
  • 30 October – 13 November 2024: Voting for Elected Members.
  • 15 November 2024: Election results announced.
  • 18 November 2024: Results presented at the 2024 EESA National AGM.
  • 26 November 2024: Young Professional Member appointed at the first 2025 National Council meeting.
